Augusto Solari leaves Celta Vigo after three seasons
Argentine midfielder departs after helping club avoid relegation
Augusto Solari has left Celta Vigo after three seasons with the club. The 31-year-old Argentine midfielder played 54 times for Celta, scoring two goals and providing three assists. He helped the club avoid relegation from La Liga last season, playing a key role in their final-day victory over Deportivo Alaves.
Solari joined Celta from River Plate in 2019. He quickly became a fan favorite, known for his creativity and work rate. He also scored some memorable goals, including a stunning long-range effort against Barcelona in 2020.
Solari's departure is a blow to Celta, but the club has already begun to move on. They have signed midfielder Franco Cervi from Benfica as his replacement.
