NHL All-Star Game Teams Set After Tim Hortons Draft
Rosters Finalized for Florida Showcase
Following the Tim Hortons NHL All-Star Player Draft on Thursday, the rosters are set for the four teams that will be competing in the annual showcase event in Sunrise, Florida.
Matthews, Bedard Headline Selections
Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Connor Bedard of the Regina Pats highlight the group of 32 players selected by the NHL to play in the game. Other notable names include Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon, Leon Draisaitl, and Andrei Vasilevskiy.
The four teams will be coached by Jon Cooper of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Rod Brind'Amour of the Carolina Hurricanes, Jim Montgomery of the Boston Bruins, and Bruce Cassidy of the Vegas Golden Knights.
Format and History
The All-Star Game will be played in a three-game tournament format. The winners of the first two games will compete in a third game to determine the All-Star Game winner. The format was introduced in 2016 and has been used every year since.
The NHL All-Star Game was first held in 1947. The first 32 participants for the 2024 NHL All-Star Game at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Feb. 2-4 were announced on January 12, 2023.
